Seasonal Stress – Dec 2017

It’s December again already! My how time flies! I know many people find this time of year very stressful and commercialized. I hope everyone can make the season what they want it to be and take the time to enjoy it. Try a walk through your neighbourhood on a beautiful, fresh evening and enjoy a stroll to look at all the pretty Christmas lights and decorations. Reminisce… remember the good times with those no longer with us… share your stories… reach out to others… enjoy traditions, or start new ones! Make it the wonderful time of year it is supposed to be!

If you are finding the season getting stressful treat yourself, or someone you love, to a relaxing chair massage. There are many health benefits of chair massage and it reduces stress and will improve your sleep. You do not need to remove clothing or get up onto a table and no oils are used. A regular chair massage can do wonders for your body, your mental state, and your sense of well-being and happiness.

When most people think of getting a massage they usually think about lying on a massage table, wearing nothing but a towel, and having their full body worked on by a professional massage therapist. You either love it or don’t even want to try it. Personally, I’m not the massage table type. Yet as a massage practitioner, I know the many physical and mental benefits of massage, and they are many! For those who love their full-body massage, they may not be able to make time for it as often as they may need and may find they get tense and stressed between appointments.

Chair massage focuses on the neck, shoulders, upper and lower back, and arms and hands and is performed sitting on a specially designed chair.  Chair massage is easy, convenient and is also less expensive. Chair massage is an excellent alternative to fit in-between your full-body massage appointments or a perfect, easy way to still get the benefits of massage without the massage table routine.

Massage has so many incredible benefits, it relaxes muscles, reduces stress, and improves sleep, circulation, and flexibility, to name a few. A chair massage is less invasive, if that is your personal preference, and typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes which makes it easier to fit into your schedule.

No matter what you feel like when you sit down in the chair, you’ll feel better by the time you get up.
